Technically, it is your first visit to the office and it is similar to a consultation, but there is no charge.  Plan on this visit lasting 30-45 minutes.

You will meet with Dr. Clemens and he will discuss all aspects of your specific condition with you.  He will go over your prior health history in detail with you and perform a postural evaluation.  This is not an examination, but gives us a baseline idea of any postural deficiencies you may have.

In addition to the postural evaluation, Dr. Clemens will provide you with an electro meridian imaging (EMI) diagnostic graph after taking readings at 24 different acupuncture points.  The computer-generated graph will show your body's overall energy level, as well as any imbalances that may be present according to the theories of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Dr. Clemens will thoroughly explain how these imbalances may be leading to your specific condition and how acupuncture helps restore balance within the body.  You can even take home a printed copy if you'd like.

We can't form a definitive diagnosis without an exam, but from the detailed information we obtain in your health history, postural evaluation, and acupuncture graph, we can get a pretty good idea of what is going on.  We will then discuss and explain if and why we feel our approach to healthcare can help, how long we think it may take, how much it may cost and whether or not you have any insurance coverage.

Again, this is a completely no charge visit with no strings attached and you are under no obligation to begin treatment immediately or any time in the future.  Whether or not you choose to begin care is totally up to you, and you are free to think it over, talk to your spouse, whatever you prefer to do and won't be pressured into anything.
